I’ve got two trouble spots in my military house and when we moved in I had not a clue how I would tackle them.
One is a small wall just inside our front door and the other is a skinny spot across the kitchen in between the pantry door and dining space. Neither is wide enough to do much with, but I couldn’t bear to leave them bare.
As always my first instinct was to paint them, I thought color would be the perfect way to tie the two parallel spaces together. But as I’ve mentioned before that is just not an option. Instead I stumbled across this etsy store while looking for inspiration. I knew right away these vinyl creations were the answer.
I bought the first from her collection and the second was a collaboration. I picked the rules I wanted and she created the design to match my previous purchase. And, as a bonus, she decided she wanted to add our creation to her collection so I got my design for CHEAP for giving her permission.
Both of these quotes add a little bit of color and interest to the walls without clashing with the décor around them. They serve as a daily reminder that though we have goals we’re trying to achieve and boundaries we’re trying to stay within, that we are surrounded by a loving family who stands by us as we make mistakes and that’s really all that matters.
Bonus, the vinyl is easy to apply and even easier to peel right off. So, when it’s time for us to move my kids will finally be allowed to pull it down!
